In 1999, Fang Hengjian was invited to join the Beijing Symphony Orchestra as principal oboist, becoming the youngest principal in the orchestra’s history. In 2001, he pursued a master’s degree in oboe performance at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in the United Kingdom, receiving a full scholarship. Since 2005, he has taught at the Central Conservatory of Music, instructing oboe and chamber music performance courses. Fang Hengjian is not only an outstanding performer active on the international stage but also a highly regarded educator. His students have won numerous awards in significant domestic and international music competitions, including first prize at the 2013 Leila Bull Oboe Prize in the UK and a bronze award in the woodwind quintet category at the 7th China Golden Bell Award for Music in 2009. Fang Hengjian has held several solo recitals in China and has been frequently invited to perform and lecture both domestically and internationally. He has released multiple music albums
