Oboist; Associate Professor at the Orchestral Department of China Conservatory of Music, master’s degree advisor; holds a doctorate in oboe performance from the Hannover University of Music, Drama and Media in Germany; member of the International Double Reed Society (IDRS); specially appointed principal oboist of the Central Opera House, member of the China Woodwind Quintet; guest professor at Jilin University of the Arts; guest principal oboist of the National Centre for the Performing Arts Orchestra.
Born in 1978 in Shenyang, Liaoning, the oboist graduated from the Affiliated High School of Shenyang Conservatory of Music, the Central Conservatory of Music, the Saarland State University of Music in Germany, and the Hannover University of Music, Drama and Media in Germany. Studied under Professors Tao Dejian, Zhu Dun, A. Aussem, and K. Becker. In 2003, joined the Northwest German Philharmonic Orchestra as an intern, and in 2004, was appointed principal oboist of the Kassel State Opera in Germany. Prior to returning to China, served as principal oboist of the Berg Symphony Orchestra in Germany, becoming the first Chinese musician to secure a permanent principal oboe position in a German professional orchestra. Returned to China in 2008 to teach at the Orchestral Department of the China Conservatory of Music. Participated three times in performances with the Global Chinese Festival Orchestra, composed of the world’s most outstanding Chinese musicians.
Has contributed to recordings published by the People’s Music Publishing House, including the Chinese Higher Arts Institutions Orchestral Instrument Series: Oboe – Chinese Works Album, Chamber Music Chinese Works Album (Wind Instruments), and Woodwind Quintet Chinese Works Album. In 2019, participated in the recording and publication of the orchestral instrument Chinese works album Classic China. Since returning to teach at the China Conservatory of Music in 2008, has guided students to win awards in numerous domestic and international competitions, receiving multiple Outstanding Instructor Awards. Graduates mentored by the oboist have secured positions with orchestras such as the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra in Germany, the South Florida Symphony Orchestra in the United States, the China Philharmonic Orchestra, the Chinese Music School Symphony Orchestra, the Shaanxi Symphony Orchestra, the Harbin Sino-Russian Symphony Orchestra, and faculty positions at Shanxi University College of Music, Beijing City University, Hangzhou Academy of Arts, and Jiangxi Vocational College of Art. In 2013, was included in the Beijing Higher Education “Young Talent” Program.
