Masaichi Takeuchi
Clarinet
Professor at Nagoya University of the Arts faculty of the arts, and Nagoya University graduate school of music, former Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra musician, and board chairman of the Nagoya Clarinet Association.
Masaichi Takeuchi graduated from the Department of Instrumental Music, Nagoya University of Arts. He has studied clarinet with Takafumi Komatsu, Kiyoichi Yamada, and Kunio Chiba. In addition, he studied under Jacques Lancelot and Walter Boeykens at the Summer International Academy in Nice, France. He also studied abroad at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium. He studied with Walter Boeykens in the Superior Course, and at the same time participated in concerts and recordings as a member of his clarinet choir. He has also studied free improvisation under Fred Van Hove. Takeuchi has performed concertos with international orchestras like the Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra, the Masan Philharmonic Orchestra of Korea, the Chernigov Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine, and also gives concerts, workshops, and master classes in Asia, Europe, and the United States. He is currently a professor at Nagoya University of Arts Graduate School of Music and Faculty of Fine Arts, a chairman of the Nagoya Clarinet Association, the music director of the Takayama Wind Orchestra, a member of the Okazaki Musician Association, a member of the Nagoya-France Music Research Association, a member of the Japan Chamber Music Academy, and a special contract lecturer at Buffet Crampon Co., Ltd. Japan.
