Yukiko Shikibu
Clarinet
Solo musician.
After studying in the music department at Sapporo Hokusei Gakuen Girls' High School, Yukiko Shikibu graduated top of her class from Kunitachi College of Music. She has performed at the Imperial Palace's Touka Gakudo in front of Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress. As a recipient of an overseas training scholarship, she joined a summer course in France and studied under Jacques Lancelot. She is the recipient of the Buffet Crampon Honorable Mention Award at the 13th Europe-Japan Music Course. She has performed in the Yamaha Wind Instruments Debut Concert. After passing the Enren audition she gave a recital at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan small hall. She was also chosen for the 18th Japan Woodwind Competition in clarinet. In addition, she placed 3rd in the clarinet section of the 27th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition. Shikibu is currently a freelance clarinet musician. She has so far studied clarinet under Tokio Muramatsu, Takeda Tadayoshi, Koichi Hamanaka, and Kazuko Ninomiya.
