Assistant professor at Burapha University

Asst. Prof. Dr. Akkarapon Dejwacharanon, also known as Naksoo, is a distinguished Thai clarinetist, conductor, and educator. He is recognized as the first Buffet Crampon Clarinet Thailand Artist. His academic journey includes a Doctor of Fine and Applied Arts in Music Performance from Chulalongkorn University (2015), a Master of Music in Music Research and Development from Silpakorn University (2010), and a Bachelor of Music in Performance (Clarinet) from Chulalongkorn University (2005). His teaching career began in 2009.
His performance career showcases remarkable versatility. He has been a member of the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra since 2009 as an Assistant Clarinet and Eb Clarinet. Other significant orchestral engagements include the Siam Philharmonic Orchestra (2012), the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (2011–2012), and the Russian-Asian Youth Symphony Orchestra (2011). He served as Concertmaster and Conductor for the Chulalongkorn Clarinet Ensemble from 2005. A notable highlight was his role as Principal Clarinet in the Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera in Thailand in 2013.
Naksoo's conducting experience is extensive, notably with the Burapha University Wind Symphony and the Bangkok Wind Orchestra in 2019. He also led the Chulalongkorn Clarinet Ensemble (2015) and the Bodindecha Sing Singhaseni 2 Symphonic Band, which competed in the Thailand International Wind Ensemble Competition in 2012. Naksoo is an active performer. Key solo performances include a Clarinet Recital in Taiwan (2024) and a performance with the Sunrise String Orchestra in Vienna, Austria (2015). He has also performed as a soloist with the Burapha University Wind Symphony (2014) and the Khonkaen Winds Orchestra (2009).
He has participated in and performed at numerous international music festivals and workshops; these include appearances at Clarinet Festivals in Ostend, Belgium (2018, as Conductor of the Chulalongkorn Clarinet Ensemble), Madrid, Spain (2015, as Concertmaster of the Chulalongkorn Clarinet Ensemble), and Assisi, Italy (2012, as Concertmaster of the Chulalongkorn Clarinet Ensemble). He was part of the Southeast Asian Youth Orchestra and Wind Ensemble (2005–2010). Currently, Asst. Prof. Dr. Akkarapon Dejwacharanon dedicates his expertise and passion to his roles at Burapha University. He has served as a valued faculty member at the Department of Western Music, Faculty of Music and Performing Arts since 2014, shaping future generations of musicians. Concurrently, he has held the pivotal position of conductor for the Burapha University Wind Symphony since 2014, steering its artistic development and contributing to a vibrant musical environment at the university.
