“Neo Indonesian Music for Oboe” is his first solo album, released in 2016. An album that represents Indonesian music made by Indonesian composers and arrangers.
Bagas, an Indonesian-born Oboist studied the Oboe for the first time in Sekolah Menengah Musik Yogyakarta, Indonesia in the year of 2004 and pursued his Bachelor of Art in Institut Seni Indonesia, Yogyakarta. He then got a chance to study in Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music Singapore on a full scholarship under the guidance of Rachel Walker and Carolyn Hollier. He received a Bachelor of Music with Honours in Oboe Performance.
He participated in some music festivals and academies around the world, such as The Modern Academy in Hong Kong (2015), Obomania Academy in La Roche-Guyon, France (2016) and GLOMUS in Natal, Brazil (2017). He also got a chance to join the Asian Youth Orchestra in 2016 for their Asia tour concert and the only Indonesian in the year of 2017 for their world tour concert.
As an Oboist, Bagas has played with some professional orchestras around Asia, such as Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, Singapore Lyric Opera, Metropolitan Festival Orchestra (Singapore). As a soloist, he performed standard pieces for Oboe, with orchestra such as Sun Symphony Orchestra Vietnam, Jakarta Simfonia Orchestra, Jakarta Concert Orchestra, Jakarta Sinfonietta and Bandung Philharmonic Orchestra.
