Caroline Savickienė (b. 1995, Copenhagen, Denmark) is Principal Oboe of the Lithuanian Symphonic Wind Orchestra and an oboist and English horn player with the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra. She is active as a soloist, orchestral musician, and chamber performer, with a strong interest in contemporary music and new compositions.
She began playing the oboe at the age of 12 under Eva Holck. She later studied in Holstebro with Henrik Husum, where she performed in various orchestral and chamber music projects, including collaborations with Orchestra MidtVest and Ensemble MidtVest.
In 2015, she began her studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Music with Max Artved and Joakim Dam Thomsen. During her studies, she also spent a year at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre with Prof. Robertas Beinaris. She completed her Master’s degree in 2020.
Savickienė has performed as a soloist with various orchestras in Denmark and Lithuania and regularly appears as a chamber musician and ensemble player. As an orchestral musician, she has collaborated with a range of ensembles and projects, including appearances at the Gaida Festival.
She is featured on the CD Dedications, performing as soloist in Concerto Grosso for Oboe, Clarinet and Strings by Arvydas Malcys with Musica Humana, alongside clarinetist Rimvydas Savickas and conducted by Robertas Beinaris.
Savickienė is a laureate of several international competitions, including the Samnium International Competition (Italy), Pamus Flow International Competition (Croatia), Liutaras Vėbra International Competition (Lithuania), the International Chamber Music Competition “Muzikinė akvarelė” (Lithuania), the Nouvelles Etoiles Competition (France), and the King's Peak International Music Competition (USA).
