Former second principal player of the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, and chairman of the board for a musical performance NPO.

Just as he was graduating Kunitachi College of Music, Hiromasa Iwasaki joined the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra. In 1982, he took part as the soloist in Haydn's Sinfonia Concertante at the 229th regular recital of the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra. In 1985, he formed the Holtz Blazer Ensemble Sapporo and began his chamber music career in earnest. In 1987, he devoted himself to studying as a researcher with Hamburg State Theatre Orchestra. And in 1988, he returned to Japan and the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra. Later, he broadened his soloist horizons, giving a well-received recital at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan in 1995. In the same year, the Holzblazer Ensemble Sapporo received the Art and Culture honourable mention award from the Dogin Cultural Foundation. In 2008, he started the ensemble group Sora with young musicians living in Sapporo and its surrounding areas. Currently, he is the second principal oboist of the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra and a lecturer at Hokkaido University of Education.
