Principal bassoon with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and Professor at the CNSM in Paris

Julien Hardy was born in Reims on April 7, 1980, and began playing bassoon at the age of 8 with Jean-Francois Angelloz. In 1997, he went on to study with Laurent Lefèvre at the CNR de Boulogne-Billancourt, before entering the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in the bassoon class of Gilbert Audin and the chamber music class of Maurice Bourgue. At the age of 19, he won 2nd prize at the Toulon International Competition, and a few months later joined the Orchestre National de France under the musical direction of Kurt Masur, as co-solo bassoon. He then went on to win 1st prize at the Fernand Gillet/Hugo Fox International Competition in Buenos Aires, the Pierre Salvi Prize and finally the unanimous First Prize at the Paris Conservatoire.
In 2001, he decided to study with Sergio Azzolini at the Musikhochschule Basel, while continuing his studies in Paris. He is regularly invited to play with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Budapest Festival Orchestra, European Camerata, Les Musiciens du Louvre, Orchestre de chambre d'Auvergne...
He also takes part in prestigious chamber music festivals in France and abroad, such as Verbier, Lockenhaus, Festival de l'Empéri, December Night's Festival in Moscow... and performs at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Rudolfinum in Prague, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the Musée d'Orsay, the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, with Paul Meyer, Emmanuel Pahud, Eric Le Sage, Bertrand Chamayou, Alexei Ogrintchouk, Nicolas Baldeyrou, David Guerrier, Daishin Kashimoto... In 2007, he was appointed 1st bassoon soloist with the Orchestre Philarmonique de Radio France under the direction of M-W Chung, and the following year, he won the ARD competition in Munich.
Julien Hardy teaches bassoon at the CNSM in Paris.

As well as being a chamber musician and a soloist, he also teaches the oboe class in the Zürich Conservatory (ZHdK).
Simon Fuchs plays Buffet Crampon since 1994 and is one of our Ambassadors ever since. Simon Fuchs has been involved in the continuous improvement and development of our oboes as an Endorser since many years.
