Masaharu Shinagawa

Part-time lecturer at Nihon University College of Art and musician for Magical Sounds.
Masaharu Shinagawa was born in Tokyo in 1960. He has completed studies at Nihon University Tsurugaoka Senior High School’s music department, Nihon University College of Art’s music department, and in their research institute. His studies of clarinet were with the late Risei Kitazume, Takamichi Suzuki, and Seiji Yokokawa. He made his solo debut at the Yomiuri Newcomer Concert in 1987. In 1996, he held a solo recital at the Ellora Concert Hall. He released his solo album ‘Serenade’ with King Records in 1997, and in 2005, Magical Sounds released their first album with Brain, and began receiving positive reviews. In recent years, he has demonstrated his many talents by appearing not only as a performer in Toho musical "Fiddler on the Roof,” but also as an actor in the show itself. He is additionally an active part of Magical Sounds.
Further to his performing, he instructs younger generations at the Nihon University College of Art as a part-time lecturer, while also working at Buffet Crampon Japan Co., Ltd. as a full-time lecturer across the country, focusing on instructing bands in junior high schools and high schools. His enthusiasm in teaching has gained him incredible trust all-round.
