Prapanpong Maneewong

Prapanpong Maneewong is a Thai clarinetist who performs both classical and jazz music. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, under the National Outstanding Arts Students Program. He earned his Master’s degree in Music Research and Development from the Faculty of Music, Silpakorn University, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Western Music at the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University.
He studied Classical Clarinet with Choowit Yurayong, Yos Vaneesorn, Walter Boeykens, Sergio Bosi, Martin Spangenberg, Yehuda Gilad, and Jonathan Cohler; and Jazz Clarinet with Eiji Taniguchi and Simon Wyrsch. In 2010, he received a scholarship to study music in Brussels, Belgium under the Musica Mundi program.
Prapanpong has received numerous awards in clarinet competitions, including :
- Winner, Malaysia First ASEAN Online Clarinet Competition 2021
- Winner, Valaya Alongkorn Music Competition 2021
- Winner, International Music Contest 2015, Bratislava, Slovakia
- Second Prize, Thailand Clarinet Competition 2012
He has also been invited to perform at several prestigious international events, such as:
- International Clarinet Festival in Italy, Spain, and Belgium
- Thai Festival in Norway
- Jazz in July in Singapore
- Solo with Songkla Philharmonic Orchestra
He was selected as a member of both the Asian Youth Jazz Orchestra (AYJO) and the Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO) in 2015. He has performed with ensembles and orchestras including Chulalongkorn Clarinet Ensemble, Siam Sinfonietta, Thailand Youth Orchestra, Feroci Philharmonic Wind, CU Clarinet Ensemble, and Maithai Orchestra.
Currently, Prapanpong serves as a faculty member at Ramkamhaeng University Demonstration School (Secondary Division), Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Ramkamhaeng University.
