Principal player of the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, member of The Narmen Clarinet Ensemble, and part-time lecturer at Nagoya University of the Arts.

Yuto Kamei won 1st place and Grand Prix in the 15th Clarinet Ensemble Competition, General Division. He was chosen for the 87th Japan Music Competition. He came in 3rd at the 17th Tokyo Music Competition, also receiving the audience’s choice award. In the 30th Japan Woodwind Competition he came 2nd, and he won 2nd place at the 10th Japan National Clarinet Competition. At the 19th Tokyo Music Competition he came in 2nd place (highest place), and also received the audience’s choice award. He won first prize at the 90th Japan Music Competition, as well as the Segi Award and the E. Nakamichi Award. He has studied under Takako Asai, Takashi Inoue, Kei Ito, and Yoshinobu Kamei, and has attended a master class by Romain Guyot. After graduating Aichi Prefectural Meiwa High School, he became a graduate of Tokyo University of the Arts. Kamei is a 2017 Aoyama Music Foundation Scholarship recipient and a Segi Art Foundation Short-Term Overseas Study Scholarship recipient. In 2023 he received the Rohm Music Foundation scholarship.
